Sandi's Week #19

Funny how Suzanne and I are behind the same number of weekx in Project Life.  We both just completed week #19.  I used Suzanne's awesome sketch for my title card.  I also used some older Amy Tangerine stitched look Thickers that I have been hoarding.  I seriously have like a dozen packages of these in 3 different colors and I am now forcing myself to use them.  They are just so CUTE!!  Am I the only one that hestitates to use something that they really like?  That was also the case for that yellow anchor flair badge on my title card. But now having used it, I love where it is and how it looks.  Challenge this week from me.....use something you have been saving for just the right time.  The time is now....seize the moment.  LOL

Well there you have it....week #19 is in the books.  I hope we can inspire you to create a PL spread this week....you are never too behind to catch up.  I would love to see a bunch of entries this time.  To get all the details and link up your project go to THIS post of Suzanne's.

Sketch Challenge!!

Wahoo!!! It's time for our next challenge here at Week 2 Week. Before Project Life, I gained most of my inspiration and design from using sketches found on blogs and other challenge sites. It took the guesswork out of planning my layout and gave me ideas for how to use my papers and embellishments. Some of my favorite pages came from sketches that I used again and again. I thought, why not have a Project Life sketch challenge?

Here we go!!

Just as with a traditional layout sketch, feel free to put your own spin on it. You can use it as designed for your "Week #" title card or you can adapt it for a different 4x6 or 3x4 etc insert. Here's my take on it:

I love how it turned out! I used papers from My Minds' Eye "My Girl" 6x6 pad. I fussy cut the "be happy" from one of the patterened papers. The "Week 18" and "This is the life" yellow alphas came from Simple Stories' Sn@p! line.

I hope you play along with this week's sketch! Here is what you are playing for:

I love using 6x6 pads in my Project Life album. I have the new Bo Bunny "Key Lime" collection, as well as 4x6 cards from Doodlebug's new "Stars and Stripes" simply put line. Both of these are great for your summer PL pages! I will also have a small assortment of embellishments including buttons and washi and a few other goodies from my stash ;)

Please check out at our ABOUT W2W for all the details on playing along with our challenges :)

Looking forward to seeing your creations! Link up below by July 31st to enter to win.

A New Challenge --- Use a bag or pocket

Well here we are on our second challenge already.  I hope to see a whole bunch of you playing along with us this time.  We have a fun challenge for you this time -- use a small bag or pocket on your page.  Using these for Project Life gives you the opportunity to fill them with extra pictures, memorabilia, receipts or as in my case some hidden personal journaling.
Here is my bag:

You cann see the journal cards peeking out of the decorative bag.  Since this was our anniversary week I wrote a personal couple of notes to my wonderful husband.

Here is my spread together:

And here is each page separately so you can see the detail:

and I really love the large pocket on this page to highlight a special occasion:

For these pages I used Becky Higgins Blush core kit for the 4x6 and 3x4 cards with some Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine embellishments which matched the colors perfectly.

So do you think you want to join us for our challenge?  If you do not have a little 3x4 bag, a library pocket or handmade small envelope will also qualify.  If it is personal you do not have to show us but I would love to hear your ideas of what to include in the keepsake bag.  How about a lock of hair from baby's first haircut? Or your grocery receipt?  I love including memorabilia in my PL pages and this is a great way to do so.
So what do we have for the winner?  This prize for this challenge is:

Echo Park's Photo Freedom series Today's Story collection.  Cool, huh?  Well, put on your thinking caps because you know what they say....you can't win if you don't play.

Here's a review of the rules:
Please link up your project by noon on July 14th.  We will choose and announce a winner shortly thereafter.
