Sandi's take on Challenge #1 -- Currently card

 

I am so excited to be sharing with you my take on our first challenge....the "currently" card.  At this point I am behind on PL but that really doesn't stress me out.  I need to live life in order to have something to document.  If I am behind, I just take good notes (usually in my daily planner) and create my pages when I can.  The above page is actually page 2 of week #16 and this is page #1:

 

My husband and I are empty nesters so sometimes I do not have very much to document especially if we didn't do much over the weekend.  To use a currently card or current favorites is a great way to fill up a 2 page spread as well to include information about me which often gets lost or not documented.  Here is my 2 page spread together:

 

For my currently card I used a card from the Amy Tangerine Yes Please collection.  I just LOVE the colors of her collections and they contain a lot of travel themed elements to use on my PL pages.  I use an wide assortment of products from various manufacturers on my pages.  Once in awhile I will stick to one manufacturer on a weekly spread but that is rare.  Do you like to mix and match?

Challenge {ONE}

Wahoo!!! It's time for our first challenge here at Week 2 Week. One thing I want to include in my Project Life is information about myself. But, let's face it - that's hard. When you have so many other things going on during the week to "waste" real estate on your page with what may seem frivolous at the time. But trust me, you are going to want to look back and remember these tidbits.

You can get a lot of bang for your (freebie!) buck with this journaling card. In one 3x4 space you can list what - at this very moment - you are entertained by, looking forward to, what you're creating, and more. It's the "Currently" card!

Many manufacturers have their version of this journaling card; or you can simply make your own!  Or... you can have the best of both worlds and click HERE to print the freebie above. Pretty neat, huh?

I printed the above freebie in black on white cardstock, trimming to 2 3/4 x 3 3/4" and layering on a 3x4 piece of patterned paper from My Minds Eye "My Girl" 6x6 pad. I love 6x6 pads for Project Life :)

{Behind the Blog}

Suzanne and Sandi are two online friends; married to two different Daves and who decided to document their lives week to week this year.

My name is Suzanne and I'm married to my awesome husband Dave for almost 5 years. We have a 6 year old puggle named Jax and are awaiting the adoption of our first child. I'm a first grade teacher by day and a paper crafter by night. Project life always interested me, but it always scared me because I thought it would take away the creativity that I really love about scrapbooking. As the trend REALLY caught on - I realized that what I loved MORE about scrapbooking was displaying our photos and telling our life's story... which sort of has gotten lost this past year (major slump from being overwhelmed with so many supplies, photos and the constant need to "catch up"). Deciding to do Project Life in 2013 has rekindled my love of this hobby and going to bring the best of both words -- documenting and creating :) You can see all my Project Life layouts and many more projects at my blog Scrap With Suzy. I'm excited to start this blog with my friend, and fellow "Project Lifer" to connect and inspire other week to week scrapbookers!

Hi from the sunny state of Florida!  My name is Sandi and Suzanne & I have been online friends for nearly 6 years. My husband Dave and I are "empty-nesters" and we work together for the largest building material supplier in the US.  He is our warehouse manager and I am in inside sales.  We work a long 50 hour week with nearly another 10 hours of commute time.  After being together all day we pursue our own interests many evenings when we get home.  I will go to my scrap room if I am energetic enough to work on something.  That is what I like about Project Life....I can work a little on a page every night and feel like I am being creative and accomplishing something.  I still create traditional layouts but save those projects usually for the weekend.  I love to document our life even if it is a quiet and peaceful one (i.e. boring).  We do a fair amount of traveling and in Florida there is always something to go and see on the weekend.  You can check out my creative endeavors on my blog Slightly Off Center.  I am excited to inspire you and hopefully make lots of new friends among the Project Lifers out there.

If you are unfamiliar with Project Life you can read more about Becky Higgins' original concept HERE.
